School Age Children Psychology Services

The Psychologist in school ages services supports children attending mainstream school and children attending Holy Family Special School and respite houses for children with autism and other complex needs that are in residential or shared care settings with St. Joseph’s Foundation.


Interventions range from

  • Advice to schools, parents, staff in residential settings and attending  IEP meetings
  • Transition Planning
  • —Training for Parents, staff and schoolsReferrals can include anxiety, behavioural issues, sleep problems, social interaction difficulties, and school placement breakdowns, relationship difficulties in the home or at school.
  • —Interventions are based on a full assessment of the problem and knowledge of the learning and behavioural profiles specific to the various syndromes and levels of disability presented by the child.
  • —Interventions are individualised and family focused.
