One of the exciting new developments for St. Joseph’s in Charleville is the commencement of Best Buddies, a programme originating in the US.

We hope to have more information on this programme in the near future. It is not currently up and running...yet.

• It aims to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by means of partnerships with schools and colleges.
• We hope to involve local Transition Year students in projects that they design themselves with support from the Volunteer co-ordinator and teaching staff at their schools.
• They get to manage, fundraise, organise outings and activities with our service users gaining ownership and valuable experience of the various roles they take on.
